Pratichi is an Arts and Cultural Institution. The words "Arts" and "Cultural" is somewhat inter-related. Although both "Arts" and Culture" are included in our Mission Statement, our main emphasis is on Arts, i.e. promoting and developing Arts in the greater Kansas City area. Ourgoal is to integrate the Eastern (Asian) and the Western Arts, specially in the areas of Classical Music ( Instrumental ) and Dance. During the last few years, Pratichi is working hard towards this goal. We believe, achieving this goal will involve the following steps:

In Kansas, the Asian-Americans and Americans of other ethnic origin, are not very active in arts and related cultural activities, although there is a great demand for it. Pratichi’s goal is to meet this demand. Good Instrumental music and classical dances or ballet have no language barrier, and are liked by all. Therefore, integration of Eastern and Western arts in these areas is possible. Pratichi is committed to this goal.

During the last several years, Pratichi has organized several concerts and dance performances in the greater Kansas City area and has arranged workshops

To foster an understanding and appreciation of Indian and Asian Arts in the field of Music and Dance by the local community. Pratichi wants to achieve this goal by arranging musical concerts and dance performances by well-known performing artistes from our country or even from abroad (India or other Asian countries)

To arrange lecture demonstration and workshops by the performing artistes. This will allow active participation by the community members of diverse culture, background and origin.

Finally, to achieve the successful integration ( or creation of fusion) of Eastern and Western arts in the areas of music, dance and ballet. This step will be accomplished when the first two steps ( steps (a) and (b) above) are carried out successfully...

The Mission Statement of Pratichi is described as follows:

Enhancement of Indian Arts and Music – specially classical music ( instrumental and vocal), classical and folk dances, ballet, etc.

Organize and Participate in Arts, Cultural and educational activities. This will include inviting well-known and talented performing artistes to participate in concerts, educational and cultural programs organized by Pratichi.
